"Bridget Loves Bernie" was part of a wave of ethnic comedies that swept American television during the early 1970s. Bernie, the Jew, was a struggling young writer who supplemented his income by driving a taxi cab.  Bridget, his young bride, was an elementary school teacher whose parents were wealthy Irish Catholics.  Despite reasonably good ratings, Bridget Loves Bernie was canceled at the end of its first season.  One contributing factor may have been the furor created by the unhappiness of religious groups, primarily Jewish, over the show's condoning and publicizing mixed marriages.

      "Muna Lured Ofir"  is the current Palestinian-Israeli version of this ethnic blending!  Ofir Rahum was the young 16 year-old Israeli Jew, struggling with his raging hormones.  Amna Muna, a 25 year-old Palestinian woman, played his Internet seductress and ALSO played poor Ofir like the proverbial fiddle.  In the end (Ofir's end!) his raging hormones were no match at all up against Amna Muna's raging nationalism!

Here are the details.  They should be required reading within the Israeli school system replacing foolish post-Oslo notions that the Arabs are no different than Jews and that all they really want is to become our friends... or in Ofir's case, lovers!  For while Ofir had "Sleeping With the Enemy" (another American movie!) on his mind, Amna Muna  was out for blood... HIS blood!

Amna Muna lived in the small Arab "West Bank" village of Bir Naballah, located a few miles north of Jerusalem and a few short miles south of Ramallah, the Arab cesspool renown for butchering Jews.  Ofir Rahum lived in Ashkelon [Israel Proper], a few miles north of Gaza Strip... another Arab cesspool so foul that even Egypt doesn't want it!   Mona and Ofir were from different worlds yet the wonders of the Internet brought them together... but NOT the kind of "togetherness" Ofir had in mind! 

Using an Internet Cafe in Ramallah, Mona decided to lure and then abduct a Jew into Ramallah.  She first made contact with Meir Karni of Jerusalem, promising him  sexual intercourse in Ramallah.  Meir must have smelled a trap and turned her down.  Not deterred, Mona became "Sali" and found herself another young Jew, Ofir Rahum.   She told Ofir that her father was Moroccan, her mother Israeli and that she (Amna Muna) had arrived within the last year.  After several online conversations, she determined Ofir was a "suitable candidate" and passed this information on to her friend, and Fatah Tanzim terrorist, Hassan al-Qadi. 

In the two weeks prior to Ofir's murder, Muna tried to convince him to meet her for a little "one-on-one" at her girlfriend's apartment in Jerusalem.  Ofir told her that he could not get to Jerusalem, have the romantic interlude and still make it back to Ashkelon in time so as not to arouse the curiosity of his parents.  Finally on January 17, 2001 the two agreed to meet at Jerusalem's central bus station.  From there they took a taxi to the A-Ram junction just north of Jerusalem where her accomplice, Hassan al-Qadi, had arranged to leave her a car.

She then proceeded to drive Ofir toward Ramallah.  No doubt Ofir must have sensed danger because  Ramallah, to most Israelis, was still a fresh reminder of the recent slaughter of two Israeli reservists.  But he never made it to Ramallah.  Mona stopped the car at the site she had pre-arranged with Hassan al-Qadi.  Once at this spot, al-Qadi suddenly appeared, opened Ofir's door, pointed a Kalashnikov AK-47at him and ordered the now frightened boy to get out.  Ofir refused. Hassan al-Qadi fired several rounds into Ofir's legs.   Ofir screamed out for help and still refused to get out.  It was then that al-Qadi pumped a series of bullets (perhaps provided by Shimon Peres himself) into Ofir, ending his life.  No sex for Ofir Rahum... just fifteen slugs into his legs and chest.  Had Ofir and others like him been instilled with more Jewish and Zionist pride and less Western secularism and "Peace Now" bulls**t, this never would have happened.  

Life for Amna Muna continued as usual.  She drove off to meet a girlfriend for lunch, visited an aunt in the hospital and then attended a defensive driving course in Jerusalem.  A few days later she was arrested and brought to the Beit El Military Court where she proudly announced that she carried out the murder for the Palestinian people... and she really meant it!    

Amna Muna now awaits trial.  There is NO doubt that a stampede of eager Leftist Jewish lawyers will rush to represent her.  There is no doubt that some street in some cesspool Arab town will be named after her.  There is no doubt that Arab mothers will start naming their newborn daughters "Mona."  There is no doubt that Mona Awana will be some day released from an Israeli prison either as a "Good Will Gesture for the Peace Process" or as some prisoner exchange for kidnapped Israelis.  And there is no doubt whatsoever that Jews will continue trying to "Make Love, Not War" with the very people who have sworn nothing less than the total erasure of Israel from the face of the earth!

Update April 30, 2001... Ramallah:  Hassan Kadi, one of the "Hit Team" murderers of Ofir Rafum, died along with six other known terrorists in a huge explosion.  The Palestinians blamed the IDF, the IDF refused to admit any involvement.  In any event, justice was served.  We hope Hassan al-Qadi and his friends did not die instantly.

Update November 2011... Amna Muna was released under a lopsided prisoner exchange deal (1,027 Arab terrorists for one Israeli soldier). BUT when Israel tried deporting her to Gaza as part of the exchange she started screaming and crying and causing a scene on the bus.  Turns out she did not want to go to Gaza because she was a secular Muslim and may be hacked to pieces by the Hamas boys for possibly having flashed a boob or two to Ofir Rahum.  She instead requested to be deported to Turkey.  The Israeli government capitulated to her demands out of the fear it would delay the Shalit deal and put her on a plane to Istanbul.

We need to understand the reality of the situation.  Any Jew ANYWHERE is an open target for random murder by ANY Arab. The so-called "leaders" of Israel would like us to believe that the threat comes from terrorist leaders, and that the general Arab population is not a threat.  This is a lie!  The average Arab will kill a Jew if the opportunity arises.  Mona Awana was not a member of any organized  Palestinian terrorist squad yet she found a way to "contribute" to the cause.  And prior to this Mafia-style "hit" on poor Ofir, Mona Awana had been one of the so-called "good" Arabs. In fact, her only "indiscretion" was a Molotov cocktail attack upon an Israeli soldier back in 1999.  But, hey, ya' gotta let them have SOME fun!  

And then there was Khalil Mohammed Abu Ulbah, the Arab-Palestinian bus driver who mowed down a crowd of Jews on Valentine's Day -click HERE- , who was also not part of any Palestinian terror squad.  Neither was the average mutant in Ramallah when word got out that two "Jews" were being held in  that Ramallah police station! -click HERE-  They were all just your regular Arab Palestinian trying to put a Jew or two six feet under.

Every little schmuck who decides to throw a rock, Molotov cocktail or iron bar at a soldier or any kid who straps a dynamite vest around his chest becomes a martyr for the Arab Cause.  And, sadly, there is no end in sight as long as every  mosque, school, summer "camp" and family continues to encourage its young to this Holy War against Israel and her Jews.  

UPDATE: 

On 18 October 2011 Mona Jaud Awana [a.k.a. Amna Muna], who was originally sentenced to a life sentence, was released to Gaza as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas. Awana is now residing in exile in Turkey. On December 20, 2011 Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with her in Turkey to offer his sincere congratulations.
