GERALDO RIVERA DOES IT AGAIN!
(Not surprising from a self-hating 1/2 Kike
who once called the IDF, "Nazi Pigs!")
One of Fox News' mottos is "We report, you decide." The network correctly emphasizes that a reporter's job is to present both sides of the story as objectively as possible to enable the viewer to make up his own mind. Geraldo Rivera apparently doesn't understand this basic rule of journalism. Not only does he make no effort to keep his pro-Palestinian views out of his reports, in a March 13 segment on Brit Hume's "Special Report" program, he actually made
his views the topic of the discussion! He said of Israel's military actions: "That's not fighting terrorism. That is inflicting terrorism...I have been a Zionist my entire life. I would die for Israel. But watching the suffering of the Palestinian people, I'm also becoming a
Palestinianist." As Geraldo was deploring the killing of Palestinian civilians, Fox Anchorman Brit Hume rightly asked him to defend his statement that Israelis are terrorists. He asked, "When you come to see a certain equivalency, and you even used the word terrorism to refer to what Israel does, Israel now inflicting terrorism. Do you really think that Israel is intentionally killing civilians? Or are they, in a sense, collateral damage?" Geraldo admitted that, no, Israelis weren't actually aiming at civilians, but that it was more than collateral damage, because the civilian deaths were inevitable and the Israelis knew it. He said: "I think that -- it's more than collateral damage. There is an expectation, when you use a jet fighter that flies at 500 or 600 miles an hour, to get a terrorist nest. Although the Israelis are the best at it, as precise as any of our guys, there is an almost inevitability that there's going to be civilian casualties. They don't go in there intending to hurt the Palestinian civilians. I don't mean to suggest that at all, and that's just not the case. " He continued... "But the tactics that they're employing, the Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, over the severe objections of his defense minister, as we at Fox News broke the story this morning, of the secret, impassioned argument between Ben-Eliezer and Sharon over this incursion into Ramallah, on the eve of General Zinni's visit. You can't do those things. You can't, for example, round up Palestinian young men and put numbers on their arms to make it easier to identify them in the future. What in the world does that remind the world of? That reminds the world, that reminds Jews, of what Hitler and those Nazi pigs inflicted on the Jewish race during the Second World War. Maybe the comparison is not precise. Maybe it's not exactly parallel, but the echoes of it are unmistakable. It is indefensible."
"These people, the Palestinians, they bleed just like we do. They suffer just like we do. They have the same aspirations. They want to make a living. Yes, there are terrorists among them. Yes, there are young people who would strap explosives to their body, and on the promise of some Valahalla in heaven, go and blow up innocent civilians. And we deplore that. But we can't become the very thing that we loathe. That, in my view, is indefensible. And it's distinctly non-Jewish."
Inadvertent civilian deaths (collateral damage) happen in every war. They are tragic and unavoidable. That's why democracies do all they can to avoid wars. But Israel didn't start the conflict. It was brought on in response to many months of intolerable terrorism against Israel's citizens. Just as the U.S. is justified in destroying Al Qaeda's capabilities, to prevent further terrorist attacks against us, so too Israel is justified in destroying the terrorist infrastructure in the Palestinian territories. If Arafat's PA had arrested terrorists and destroyed their infrastructure -- rather than becoming terrorists themselves -- Israel's military actions would not have been necessary. GERALDO HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OUTLOOK REGARDING COLLATERAL DAMAGE INFLICTED BY U.S. TROOP IN AFGHANISTAN When Geraldo was reporting from Afghanistan, US forces inadvertently killed numerous civilians in the course of normal military operations against Al Qaeda fighters. Geraldo did not express outrage over that collateral damage and he didn't accuse the US of being terrorists. In fact here is what he said about the issue in an interview with Greta Van Susteren on February 27, 2002, just two weeks before:
VAN SUSTEREN: "Geraldo, a lot of people are talking about...whether or not we should be investigating whether civilians in Afghanistan were killed unnecessarily. Your thoughts on that?" RIVERA: "...War is a violent, brutal, messy business, and accidents happen. Civilians do get killed...The Afghans understand that war is not always precise. They understand the need for violence to combat violence. Yes, a mistake happened. Lots of mistakes happen. But if we put it in context, I think we have to give the Defense Department, our armed forces, really an A, in terms of bending over backwards, trying to minimize collateral damage, Greta." Geraldo is clearly operating under a blatant double standard. Now that Geraldo has revealed to the world that he is a self-proclaimed "Palestinianist," that he holds the Israelis in the lowest esteem, and that he has no concept of proper journalistic objectivity, how can his viewers ever trust that he is presenting the news fairly?
Fox News has a reputation for integrity and balanced reporting. Geraldo Rivera's the-story-is-all-about-me-style just doesn't seem to fit at Fox. At least we hope not. It would be a true loss for viewers if Fox News has made a business decision to ignore the basic rules of objectivity in an effort to garner higher ratings. Our Final Thoughts... Back in 1989 Geraldo Rivera invited a pack of White Supremacist goons to appear on his rag T.V. show. After Rivera baited one of them, a melee broke out. It's not often that I give credit to a Nazi skinhead, but that White Supremacist punk who busted Geraldo in
his half-Jewish beak with a chair probably did the only useful thing he'll ever do in his entire life. As for
Rivera, from his early days on ABC's 20/20, when he had pro wrestlers fake like they were roughing him up, to his equating the Israeli Defense Force actions to Nazi atrocities, Geraldo always winds up with his ass in some
sort of sling. Universally speaking, Geraldo Rivera has become a household name for CRAP. There's just no excuse that this flaming bag of hot ego should be stinking up a TV studio and raking up bucket-loads of money in the process.
